Parni Valjak (unplugged), Stars beneath the Stars
01.09.2015, Vala Beach Club, Hotel Dubrovnik Palace

For the first time in the program Stars beneath the Stars, we conclude this season with a true musical treat - the legendary 'Parni Valjak. It is a band which, in the last few decades, has left its mark on the Croatian and regional rock scene, producing hits which are now too numerous to mention.

The Vala beach of Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, hidden among the rocky shores, is going to set a great challenge for this famous rock group - a band that is known for its sold-out concerts in huge music halls, will unplug their electronics, presenting a much more intimate performance for the Vala audience. A night not to be missed!

Tedi Spalato – Stars beneath the Stars programme
17.07.2015, Vala Beach Club, Hotel Dubrovnik Palace

A peaceful, quiet and unobtrusive man, Tedi has uncompromisingly nurtured Dalmatian canzona throughout 30 years of his musical experience.  With the belief that "less is more," Tedi’s calm and serene melodies, which we call the Dalmatian melos, take us back to an older Mediterranean, a land of small vessels and hardworking fishermen, accustomed to the fact that next to them lies a more powerful and capricious neighbour, who feeds or penalizes them by according to its current mood - the sea.

Tedi’s Dalmatian temperament perfectly fits the ambiance of Vala Club in Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, where, his vocals come to life among the rocks overlooking the open sea …

Klapa Kampanel – Stars beneath the Stars programme
10.07.2015, Palm Garden of Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik

The Palm Terrace of the Excelsior Hotel offers magnificent views of the city. The highlight of this particular Summer Festival’s grand opening night are the fireworks, taking place on the beachside of the hotel. This makes the Excelsior one of the best places to enjoy the fireworks to the fullest.

On this occasion we will once again have the pleasure of hosting Klapa Kampanel. What draws us to their concerts is breadth of their musical horizons, which present the true essence of Dalmatian “klapa” singing, polyphony at its musical finest and true Mediterranean soul.  At the same time, Klapa Kampanel can completely push the boundaries of group harmony singing with an a cappella cover of U2 and other contemporary hits.

An acclaimed European open-air Shakespearean stage, Fort Lovrijenac hosts London’s Honey-tongued Theatre Productions with ‘Twelfth Night’ or “What You Will”, performed in English.

Staged on a commanding cliff above the Old Town, the play is so to say “brought home” as the Great Bard himself set the play on the coast of Ilirija, an ancient region of the Western Balkans, which many critics place directly in Dubrovnik.

Tickets are priced at 240, 190 and 140 Kunas, and can be purchased online at or at the Dubrovnik Tourist Board office.
