This year, frontline employees dedicated their time and energy to cleaning the seaside areas surrounding the beautiful, historical city centre. To ensure the initiative had a lasting impact, we have again partnered with Maritimo Recycling – non-profit organization spe, focusing instead on a circular economy approach.
Making a meaningful contribution to reducing plastic waste along the coastlines.
Throughout the day, the team worked tirelessly to collect numerous large bags filled with plastic bottles, packaging, and various debris. By involving staff, managers, and guests, ALH has transformed this cleanup into an enduring responsibility rather than a one-time event. This initiative serves as a vital step in the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the preservation of the local community’s natural beauty.
The environmental impact of this action was further solidified through a specialized recycling process.
Collected plastic caps were transported to a recycling factory where they underwent a rigorous transformation: sorting, shredding, and grinding. The material was then pressed into boards and precision-cut using a CNC machine. The result was the creation of 100% recycled coasters, turning ocean-bound waste into functional products. Yet another tangible reminder of what can be achieved when sustainability meets creativity.
Turning today’s seaside waste into tomorrow’s recycled treasures, our team proves that a cleaner future is possible when we work together to protect the shores we love.
