First Dubrovnik Aquathlon
For the first time, Dubrovnik hosted a unique international sports event on October 2nd 2016 – The Inaugural Dubrovnik Aquathlon – a two stage, continous race involving 1 km of swimming and 5 kilometres of running, starting and ending in front of the Dubrovnik’s Old City Walls.
Aquathlon is an excellent way for novice athletes to enter the world of multisport, and for experienced triathletes to add some spice to their race programmes. A challenge which may people from Dubrovnik and their guests gladly accepted.
Despite the original plan the swim route in front of the Old Port was cut short by one leap (500 meters) due to the heavy rain and strong waves.
Though beginning of October in Dubrovnik is usually relatively warm, with eleven hours of sunlight daily and temperature averages of 25 °C (the sea around 22- 23 °C) this Sunday it rained cats and dogs!
But just like on a wedding we’ll call it a good thing, and wish them great deal of luck in years to come!
